At a Glance: This is the showiest and largest of the native lupine varieties. It does well in open habitat areas, stream sides, and meadows. It also thrives in disturbed areas and helps to fix nitrogen.

Leaves: Palmately compound leaves with 10-17 leaflets each.

Flowers: Blue to violet cones of pea-like flowers that can be up to 40 cm long and develop into hairy pods.
