At a Glance: Fringe cup is a subtle, herbaceous perennial that can be found in thickets, avalanche tracks, stream banks, glades and moist forests, where you may find woodland elves dining on the plant to improve their night vision.
Leaves: Somewhat heart-shaped basal leaves are 1-3” wide, shallowly lobed & coarsely toothed with long, very hairy stalks. There are 1-3 smaller leaves that move up the stem.
Flowers: Frilly, or fringed petals divided into 5-10 lobes are greenish-white to sometimes reddish (darker w/age) and very fragrant.
