At a Glance: Pearly everlasting is perennial herb in the Aster family. Pearly everlasting spreads by rhizome and grows anywhere from 7-40 inches tall. Grows well in a variety of conditions. Considered a weedy native plant that can be found all over.
Leaves: Alternate, narrowly lace-shaped leaves. Leaves are greenish on top and white and woolly underneath; margins of leaves often roll under.
Flowers: Flat topped clusters of small flowers with yellow disk centers and dry, pearly-white petals. Flowers retain their color and shape when dried, making them attractive as dried bouquets. Flowers can last until first snows or frosts of winter.
