At a Glance: Western columbine is a perennial herb in the buttercup family. Western columbine likes to grow in moist, open to partly shaded sites; meadows, rocky slopes and beaches, forest glades, clearings, and roadsides. This plant can grow up to 3 ft tall.
Leaves: Basal arrangement, twice divided in threes.
Flowers: Drooping red and yellow flowers; usually 2-5 flowers per plant.
