At a Glance: Found in a variety of habitats, Woodland Strawberry is a species of openings and open forests.
Leaves: 3 non-leathery, strongly veined & coarsely toothed leaflets grow from long basal stalks. A distinguishing factor, the terminal tooth on leaflets of Woodland Strawberry is longer than the adjoining teeth.
Flowers: Flowers are white, about 1.5” across, with 5-7 petals; 5-9 flowers on a leafless flowering stalk to 12” tall.
Fruit: small hairy strawberry to ½” across.
