Description

At a Glance: Cool-season perennial bunchgrass or sod-forming grass growing 1–3 ft tall; spreads by rhizomes in some varieties.
Leaves: Fine, narrow, dark green to bluish-green blades with a tufted appearance.
Flowers: Open, airy panicles turning purplish to tan as seeds mature in summer.
